Rallye Motors Hyundai is on the move with construction on New Brunswick’s first Auto Mall
An “auto mall” offering a number of brands of cars, trucks and SUVs in a single location is under construction in Moncton.
The concept is popular in other places across North America, but will be a first in New Brunswick. The Rallye Motors Auto Group, which touts itself as the region's largest dealer group, is building the facility north of Carson Drive on 12 acres next to the existing Rallye Motors Hyundai, near Wheeler Boulevard. The investment is estimated at between $20 Million and $30 Million at full build-out,with the first phase opening in 2017.
”The Rallye Motors Auto Mall will contain multiple automotive brands, a one-stop shopping for new and used car buyers with more than 1,000 vehicles to choose from, a service drive through, rapid lube changes, a full service collision center including glass repair and dent repair, among other services,” group advertising manager Tim Sears says. In addition to the current brands of automobiles which include Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Ram, Rallye Motors will be adding other popular brands to its lineup sometime in 2017. Details on which brands will be coming to Moncton will be released later.
The creation of the auto mall will prompt other changes to the automotive landscape of Metro Moncton. Rallye Motors Nissan will relocate from west Main Street to the new Carson Drive auto mall. After nearly doubling its sales over the past two years, Nissan will make its new home in a state of the art Nissan Canada-approved 35,000 square foot building that is being built now, featuring 27 bays, making it the largest import store in New Brunswick, Sears says.
Two other buildings are slated for construction after the new Rallye Motors Nissan is completed. Meanwhile, the Nissan move will allow the long-time Rallye Motors Chrysler dealership, which Sears says has shown significant growth as well, to move to the former Rallye Motors Nissan location – a much newer, larger and modern facility at 1810 Main St., boasting six acres of property and a service drive-through in a more modern facility. Rallye Motors Chrysler is now located on Morton Avenue. Rallye Motors Auto Mall will include a large used car lot featuring inventory from all four of its locations creating a one-stop automotive shopping center. The pre-owned vehicle space is also now under construction. Sears says employment will swell to more than 200 permanent full-time staff within the Rallye Group of companies upon completion from the current roster of 150 people.
